The makers of the Malayalam drama-thriller film Iratta have locked its OTT release date. The film stars Anjali, Manoj K.U. and Abhiram Radhakrishnan in the lead roles and was released in cinemas on February 3, 2023.
Iratta received positive reviews from the audiences and critics alike. The plot of the film is touted to be a police story, with Joju George essaying a double role for the first time in his career. The two characters essay conflicting personalities, which often puts them at odds with each other.
According to reports, Iratta’s digital streaming rights have been bought by OTT giant Netflix. The film will start streaming on the OTT platform from March 3, 2023.
Recently, Joju George announced his decision to quit social media platform Instagram. The actor shared a special video message which said, "For quite some time now, I have avoided all forms of media. I made an effort to start being engaged once more in the Iratta movie’s promotion. However, I’ve once again been forced into pointless confrontations.”
The Malayalam actor continued, “I’m only going to concentrate on movies. I’ve been going through a difficult time in my career. Please don’t bother me. I’m not requesting your assistance. But if you could refrain from bugging me, that would be wonderful."
Notably, Joju George received the Best Actor award at the Kerala State Film awards in September last year. During his speech, the actor said “I have acted in over 100 films now and each movie was a lesson. In many films, it’s my friends and mentors who taught me what to do, what not to and what to correct. I want to thank all of them. I don’t know whether I can achieve something bigger than this.”
“This is the biggest achievement in my life. I came here wanting to say a lot, but things have turned emotional. This journey, where I started from somewhere, I have reached here,” Joju George was quoted as saying in his speech.
