The highly anticipated album Ruby by Jennie Kim has finally been released and fans are wasting no time in scrutinising every detail of the lyrics. One song in particular, Seoul City, has sparked intense speculation among fans, with many convinced that the sultry track is actually about BTS member V aka Kim Taehyung. The theory has gained significant traction, with fans pouring over the lyrics and analysing every word for hidden meaning. But what's behind this speculation and is there any truth to the claim that Seoul City is indeed about V?

The lyrics of Seoul City read, “Give me hug, need your love, touch my thigh / Tell me what puts you in that mind / Frame it up, draw me in, do me right / Don’t you dare leave my sight.” One of the lines say, “Only listen to my general, oh-oh / He says my attitude out of control / Tell me what to do, Mr. General.”

For the unversed, BTS member V continues to serve in the South Korean military, fans are eagerly following every update on his journey. Currently part of the Special Duty Team at the ARMY general school administration, V has shared that he holds the rank of Sergeant, although he hasn't disclosed his exact position. 

Since the song dropped, TikTok has been flooded with videos pairing Seoul City with clips of V, further fueling the rumors. However, it's unlikely that Jennie will ever publicly confirm the inspiration behind the song, leaving fans to continue speculating and theorizing about the possible connection to V.

BTS' V military discharge date

BTS member V embarked on his mandatory military journey on December 11, 2023. As he diligently serves his country, fans are eagerly counting down the days until his anticipated return. According to the expected timeline, V is slated to be discharged from his military service on June 10, 2025, marking the end of his time in the armed forces. The upcoming discharge date has undoubtedly sparked excitement among the BTS ARMY, who are eagerly awaiting V's return to the music scene and the group's future endeavors.
