Last week saw the release of several intriguing Indian OTT titles, including a number of movies and web series like ‘Bawaal’, ‘Asvins’ and ‘Trial Period’, to name just a few. This week has a slew of interesting OTT releases from the South industry. Let us have a look at it.

Maamannan (Netflix from 27th July)

Synopsis: Maamannan is one of the few new releases this weekend that will keep you engaged. A political drama of sorts, the film revolves around Maamannan, an MLA belonging to the oppressed community, and his estranged son. The two share a sour past, but finally unite when an opposition leader insults Maamannan.

Regina (Amazon Prime Video from 25th July)

Synopsis: A young woman who is traumatised after losing her husband in a bank robbery sets out on the path of revenge. Will she achieve her mission or end up losing herself in the process? Regina Movie Review: For a female-centric film, Regina's one-line is quite decent.

Kolla (Manorama Max from 27th July)

Synopsis: Two women, Annie and Shilpa, plan a heist with help from a father figure, Stephen. They pull off the heist and get away with it on their terms cocking a snook at a cop who asks for a share and tries to double-cross them.

Appatha (Jio Cinema from 29th July)

Synopsis: Starring Urvashi, the upcoming movie is billed as “a beautiful tale of an unlikely bond” which sows the values of respecting your parents and finding oneself.
