Jugnuma Movie Review: Manoj Bajpayee and Deepak Dobriyal starrer fantasy family drama movie hit the big screens today. The movie is set in the late 1980s in the Himalaya, where a man named Dev’s life is turned upside down by a series of mysterious fires destroying his fruit orchards. When he struggles to stop the outbreaks, the escalating mystery forces him to confront not only the truth behind the blazes but also the hidden secrets of his family and past. The movie features Manoj Bajpayee, Priyanka Bose, Tillotama Shome, Deepak Dobriyal, Hiral Sidhu and Gurpal Singh in key roles.

About Jugnuma

The movie has been written and directed by Raam Reddy. It has been backed by Pratap Reddy, Sunmin Park, Guneet Monga. Anurag Kashyap and co-produced by Ganesh Shetty. Sunil Borkar has done the cinematography of the film. Jugnuma was initially premiered at the SEMINCI film festival in Spain. It was also shown in Leeds International Film Festival, where it won the Feature Film Competition. Not only that, the movie also won Special Jury Award in South Asia Competition category at MAMI Mumbai Film Festival 2024.

Recently, lead actor Manoj Bajpayee also talked about Jugnuma and said, “The USP is the storytelling. I would say this is the kind of story and storytelling I have never experienced before. I have not experienced this kind of imagination from anyone. When you think of magical realism, you know certain films and how it is done. But the way Raam Reddy has written and executed it on screen is something you have never experienced.” So if you want to get the same experience that Manoj Bajpayee has been promising then do watch the film in theatres.
