Kaun Banega Crorepati is all set for its seventeenth season. Amid the excitement, fans were left in shock after rumours emerged online surrounding Amitabh Bachchan’s exit from the show. Earlier, reports suggested that Salman Khan is likely to replace him as a new host. However, these speculations were put to rest by Big B. He took to his official blog and confirmed that he will be returning for the new season and that preparations for KBC 17 are underway.

Amitabh Bachchan Confirms KBC 17 Return

Amitabh shared a series of behind-the-scenes photos from the rehearsals along with the announcement that he has started preparing for the next season of Kaun Banega Crorepati. He posted, "Shuru kardiya kaam".

Big B added, “and the prep begins the beguine…to be back to the people..to be with them in their desires to improve life and livings..the opportunity that changes lives .. in an hour..my love and regard."

About KBC 17 Announcement

Kaun Banega Crorepati 17 was announced by Sony TV by unveiling a promo video featuring Amitabh Bachchan in April on Instagram. In the clip, Big B can be seen portraying a patient with a stomachache, hinting at the show’s return. Later, he revealed that registrations for KBC 17 are open. The post captioned, "Taiyyar ho jaiye 14th April se hot seat par aane ke liye. KBC ke registration aur humare AB ke sawaal shuru hone hi wale hain."

After the new season announcement, news of a new host began circulating online in May. The Bollywood Hungama report stated that Amitabh Bachchan was quitting KBC due to 'personal reasons'. It also claimed that Salman Khan would be taking over KBC as the new host. “Salman Khan is the king of the small screen and the best face to replace Amitabh Bachchan is him, as he also has a strong connection with the audience in the smaller centres. Shah Rukh Khan has also hosted KBC, and if everything goes well, Salman will be the newest to take the television sets by storm," a source said.

"Get ready to tune into Sony as Salman Khan might host the biggest and most popular quiz show of India as Amitabh Bachchan will be stepping back from KBC due to personal reasons," the source added.

KBC 17 Premiere Date

Season 17 of KBC is expected to air in August 2025. However, the makers are yet to announce the show’s official premiere date
