Anita Advani, Rajesh Khanna's rumoured girlfriend, has shared intimate details about their relationship. However, contrary to the claim, there's no confirmation that Anita secretly married Rajesh Khanna. According to Anita, she met Rajesh Khanna when she was 13, and they started meeting regularly in 2000. She moved in with him in 2006, and their relationship lasted until his death in 2012.

Anita described Rajesh as a complex person who showed love through actions rather than words, but also had a difficult side, especially when intoxicated. Despite their bond, Anita alleged that Rajesh's family, including his estranged wife Dimple Kapadia, didn't treat her well, especially towards the end of his life.

She said in a conversation with Meri Saheli, "We got married privately, but in the film industry, no one talks about such things openly. Everyone says ‘we’re friends’ or ‘we’re in a relationship’ or something else. But it was already reported in the media that I was with him, so neither of us felt the need to go and publicly announce that we were married. We never felt that need."

"We had a small temple in our home. He had a mangalsutra made for me, made me wear a gold and black coloured bangle. Then he applied sindoor and said, ‘From today, you are my responsibility.’ That’s how our wedding happened one night, just like that," she said.

Anita revealed that she had entered Rajesh Khanna’s life much before Dimple Kapadia, but their marriage did not take place then as she was too young. She further alleged that the actor’s family barred her from attending his funeral and even deployed bouncers to prevent her entry.

Rajesh Khanna married Dimple in 1973, when she was just 16, and the couple had two daughters, Twinkle and Rinke Khanna, before parting ways in 1982. According to Anita, she shared a live-in relationship with the superstar for nearly eight years, up until his passing in 2012. Khanna, who had been diagnosed with cancer in 2011, succumbed to the illness on 18 July 2012 at his residence.
