Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and actor Vicky Kaushal have collaborated on several acclaimed projects, a partnership admired by many Bollywood enthusiasts. Their work together includes movies like the psychological thriller Raman Raghav 2.0 and the romantic drama Manmarziyaan. Vicky Kaushal also had a cameo in Anurag Kashyap's recent film, Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat. Vicky Kaushal's latest movie, the historical drama titled Chhaava, has been a massive hit with audiences, who have widely praised the actor's performance as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. However, the film's success has also prompted Kashyap to speak publicly about his dislike towards the movie.

Anurag Kashyap recently revealed that he hasn’t seen Chaava entirely. During a recent interview with The Lallantop, the director shared that he has watched the movie in bits and pieces and compared it to The Passion of the Christ’. Anurag Kashyap said, “More than Chhaava, it felt like The Passion of the Christ. I didn’t like it. The emotion that was being created out of discomfort, I don’t appreciate. I basically watched it for Viineet. I don’t want to judge. I didn’t understand the filmmaker’s storytelling choices, but others did. That’s why I’m not a part of the mainstream; I’m a more romantic sort of person.”
