Bipasha Basu has been in the headlines lately after Mrunal Thakur's old video with a remark towards her went viral. In a throwback clip, Mrunal with her co-star Arjit Taneja were seen giving an interview during Kumkum Bhagya days. What caught attention was the conversation about Arjit revealing the type of girls he likes, showing interest in marrying a strong woman with a muscular physique. To this, the actress responded, 'Go marry Bipasha,' and further added, 'Listen, I am far better than Bipasha. Okay!'. This old comment of the Son Of Sardar 2 actor didn't sit well with netizens, who started flooding social media with old videos of Bipasha and highlighting her prime aura. The actress re-shared a post featuring herself with football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo amid the controversy surrounding Mrunal's viral remark video.

Bipasha took to her Instagram story and posted an old video featuring her in a pink ethnic outfit, sharing a stage with Cristiano Ronaldo during the New Seven Wonders of the World ceremony in Lisbon, Portugal, in 2007. The text on the clip read, “That iconic stage moment: Bipasha Basu with Ronaldo."

After the event, Bipasha and Ronaldo's pictures from a party emerged online during that time. One particular photo that took the internet by storm showed the Portuguese football player kissing Bipasha. Following this, the actress faced backlash and was allegedly accused of cheating on her then-boyfriend, actor John Abraham. Bipash and Ronaldo didn't issue any statement on the matter.

Prior to this, Bipasha also shared a cryptic post with a message promoting body positivity amid Mrunal's controversy. Her post read, "Strong women lift each other up. Get those muscles beautiful ladies… we should be strong… muscles help you attain good physical and mental health forever! Bust the age old thought process that women should not look strong or be physically strong."

Mrunal Thakur's Viral Remark

In the clip. Mrunal and her Kumkum Bhagya co-star Arjit Taneja were seen talking about fitness preferences. She asked him, “Would you rather marry someone who is more manly with muscles?” To this, Arjit mentioned Bipasha's name, prompting the actress to say, “Go marry Bipasha then. Listen, I am far better than Bipasha.”

Meanwhile, Bipasha Basu is away from showbiz after getting married to Karan Singh Grover in 2016 and welcoming a baby girl, Devi, in 2022.
