Coolie Box Office Collection Day 2: Rajinikanth and Nagarjuna starrer Tamil action thriller movie hit the silver screens on August 14, eying the Independence Day long weekend. The film opened at the box office, earning Rs 65 crore in India itself, whereas on Independence Day, the film saw a slight drop in numbers. However, it managed to not only cross the Rs 100 crore mark but also surpass Rs 115 crore. Seeing the current pace, it won’t be wrong to say that Coolie will soon reach the Rs 200 crore milestone.

Coolie Box Office Collection Day 2

As per Sacnilk, the movie earned Rs 53.50 crore on Day 2. The net collection of Coolie stands at Rs 118.50 crore. The film had an overall 80.70 per cent Tamil occupancy on Friday. It had 63.86 per cent occupancy in the morning shows, 86.25 per cent occupancy in the afternoon shows, 86.37 per cent in the evening shows and 86.33 per cent in the night shows.

Coolie Budget

The megastar’s film has been made on a budget of around Rs 350 to 400 crore.

The plot revolves around a relentless quest for vengeance since, driven by right past wrongs, which shaped his existence. The movie stars Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, Upendra Rao, Sathyaraj and Reba Monica John in pivotal roles. It has been directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by Kalanithi Maran. The film has a runtime of 2 hours and 50 minutes.

The film created a buzz since the announcement and on its release day, the fans of OG Thalaiva Rajinikanth were seen thronging to the theatres with drums and dancing on the beats. It was a great celebration for the fans also because Coolie marks Rajinikanth’s 50 glorious years in Indian cinema.
