YouTuber and social commentator Dhruv Rathee has stirred debate online after criticising Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan for promoting paan masala products despite his massive wealth. In a recent video shared on social media, Dhruv discussed the Jawan actor’s reported net worth of $1.4 billion (around Rs 12,400 crore), questioning his decision to endorse harmful products. According to reports, Shah Rukh Khan now ranks among the richest entertainers in the world. 

Dhruv Rathee highlighted this achievement but raised ethical concerns over the star’s choice of advertisements. He said, “Shah Rukh Khan has now become a billionaire. His net worth is $1.4 billion, which is nearly Rs 12,400 crore a figure so huge that it’s difficult to even imagine.” Dhruv went on to explain how even with expenses on luxurious properties, a private jet, and lavish holidays, SRK would still have immense wealth left. Yet, he questioned why the actor continues to appear in paan masala commercials. “My question to Shah Rukh Khan is isn’t this much money enough? If it is, then why do you still promote something as harmful as paan masala?” he asked.

Dhruv Rathee also referenced reports that claim SRK earns between Rs 100 crore and Rs 200 crore from such brand endorsements. Dhruv argued that, given his financial status, Shah Rukh should reconsider such deals. “Ask yourself honestly do you really need this extra Rs 100–200 crore? What purpose will it serve? Instead, think about the positive impact it could create if the country’s biggest actor decided not to promote harmful products,” he said. Rathee further urged Shah Rukh to reflect on his influence, suggesting that celebrities of his stature have a responsibility to set better examples for their audiences. “If India’s top actor stops endorsing products that harm public health, imagine the kind of message it would send across the nation,” he added.

Meanwhile, he concluded the video by encouraging his followers to share the message widely so that it reaches the actor himself. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is currently shooting for King, an action thriller directed by Siddharth Anand. The film also stars Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, and Arshad Warsi.
