  3. Expresses desire to join INDIA bloc's Supreme Court march.

'I am unofficially under house arrest' said famous YouTuber Dhruv Rathee two days after his detention. He was released on Sunday by the Delhi Police amid a CJP protest on October 10 at Jantar Mantar.

Dhruv Rathee has claimed that he is “unofficially” under house arrest, saying that around 50 police personnel are stationed outside his residence and that he is being followed and threatened with detention if he approaches a protest, reported Lallantop.

Rathee also showed his support for the INDIA bloc's Supreme Court march and said he wanted to join the planned march to the Supreme Court today to demand Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar's resignation over Special Intensive Revision (SIR) irregularities.

“I want to join the protest, but they (police) have stationed around 50 people outside my house. Wherever I go, they follow me and threaten me, saying that if I go anywhere near a protest, they would pick me up immediately again,” he said.

When asked if he was under house arrest, Rathee replied, “Unofficially, I would say so.”

“The police are all around me. Wherever I go, they follow me. They followed me in a car too. Three or four cars follow me,” he alleged.

The social media influencer also said he is an Indian citizen, noting there is no visa issue for him amid allegations of having German citizenship. He added a false narrative has been spread on social media about his citizenship.

This comes after the YouTuber was detained by the Delhi Police ahead of the Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) protest at Jantar Mantar on Saturday. He has described the incident as "kidnapping".

Sharing a video on social media, Rathee alleged that he was not detained or arrested but rather kidnapped by the Delhi Police.

Dhruv Rathee revealed how Delhi Police officers arrived at his home on Saturday and took him into custody.

Rathee stated that around 7:00 AM on Saturday, several plainclothes officers arrived at his house and forced their way inside after his mother opened the door. The men entered his bedroom, dragged him out, and refused to present identification while arguing aggressively with his parents.

Rathee also said he is not affiliated with CJP or anything. "I have come here as an individual. It is not that I am affiliated with CJP or anything. I have come in my individual capacity, just like the lakhs of people across the country who are protesting."

CJP Seeks New Date For Protest

Cockroach Janta Party leaders on Monday visited the Parliament Street Police Station to seek a date for holding a protest at Jantar Mantar, giving the Delhi Police a 24-hour ultimatum to respond.

CJP activist Saurav Das said the party was willing to let the police decide the date and time for the protest.

Meanwhile, Delhi remained on high alert for the third consecutive day on Monday, with more than 30,000 police and paramilitary personnel deployed across the capital ahead of the INDIA bloc’s march to the Supreme Court.
