After a successful theatrical run, Dhurandhar, the Bollywood blockbuster, finally arrived on Netflix on January 30. Since its OTT debut, Ranveer Singh's spy thriller has topped the charts and trends at No 1 on the platform. Amid Dhurandhar OTT release hype, director Aditya Dhar explained the key details of an action sequence which has become a topic of discussion, something many may have missed during its theatrical run. Dhar explained the difference between Ranveer’s character, Hamza Ali Mazhari, holding the gun, compared to Rehman Dakait’s brother, Uzair Baloch, played by Danish Pandor in the movie.
Aditya Dhar took to his Instagram stories and shared a photo featuring Ranveer and Danish in an action shot, showing how they hold guns differently. The director highlighted the differences with circles and added an explanation. Dhar wrote, "A trained individual keeps their finger off the trigger until necessary, shooting with purpose and deliberation rather than impulsive emotion. In contrast, an untrained person has their finger on the trigger, posing a risk of accidental discharge or acting out of anger, potentially harming innocent bystanders."
He concluded the post, stating, "Here’s the explanation. Since many of you are asking me the difference."
Why Dhurandhar Is Facing Backlash Over Its Netflix Release?
Ranveer Singh’s action thriller Dhurandhar debuted on Netflix after smashing records at the box office, but the film’s OTT release ignited criticism among viewers. The online debate sparked after fans noticed changes made to the streaming version, particularly the reduction of the film's duration by 9 minutes on OTT, along with a censored A-rated film and muted dialogues. Fans demanded that the streamer release the uncensored version.

Dhurandhar: Theatrical Duration Vs OTT Version
Released on December 5, the theatrical run time of Ranveer Singh starrer is three hours and 45 minutes, while the Netflix version is three hours and 25 minutes.
Dhurandhar also stars Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun and R Madhavan. The film follows an Indian intelligence officer who embarks on a covert operation in Pakistan, joining the inner circle of the notorious Lyari mafia, headed by Pakistani gangster Rehman Dakait.
After an intriguing climax in the first part, Aditya Dhar's directorial, backed by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, is gearing up for Dhurandhar 2, which promises to scale up with a new chapter and even more cinematic spectacle. Dhurandhar's sequel is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated action films of the year and is scheduled for release on March 19.
