The news about the sequel of No Entry excited many, with some getting nostalgic. Cinephiles were therefore ecstatic when the creators confirmed No Entry 2. The casting reports were what caused the excitement to increase even further. Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor and Diljit Dosanjh were rumored to be the main stars of No Entry's sequel. However, as word spread that the Punjabi singer-actor was leaving, many were left heartbroken. Now, Anees Bazmee has revealed certain details regarding his meeting with the Punjabi actor-singer.

Anees Bazmee confirmed Diljit Dosanjh's exit from No Entry 2 in an interview with News 18 Showsha. He also admitted that he wasn't angry when he left. "I'm just happy that the film is getting made. There's no bigger joy than that. At this point, woh hi ho raha hai jo upar waala chahta hai. I work with a lot of earnestness and I leave the rest to God. It's not like the films that I've only worked with actors who've been my first choices on the films I've done so far, " he said.

Anees Bazmee openly said that he undertakes every project with total earnestness and puts his faith in a higher force to accomplish the goal. Even in situations where he has to employ second or third choices for casting, he is committed to doing his best and letting fate have its way. The Bhool Bhulaiya 2 and 3 director added, "Once these films got released, audiences felt that those actors fit the characters perfectly and nobody else could've pulled off those parts the way they did."

Anees Bazmee additionally recalled his discussions with Diljit Dosanjh, saying that they were earnest in their wish to collaborate on the movie . However, things didn't go as expected. The well-known filmmaker recalled that he and the Punjabi actor had just spent twenty minutes together on their first meeting. The latter never even heard the full screenplay and approved the central idea.

Anees Bazmee recalled, "We were discussing his dates because there was a bit of back and forth. He told me that he’s trying to work out his dates. Boney ji was also there." There have previously been rumours of Diljit Dosanjh and the creators having creative differences. Nevertheless, Boney Kapoor denied the allegations, claiming that there were some problems with the dates and that they were being fixed.
