Farhan Akhtar has finally reacted to ongoing discussions around his much-awaited film Jee Le Zaraa. Announced in 2021 with Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt, the project has faced several delays. In a recent interview, he spoke about rumours, scheduling issues and his current mindset regarding filmmaking.
Farhan Akhtar Reacts To Jee Le Zara Rumours
In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Farhan addressed the ongoing speculation about delays and possible changes in the cast. He avoided confirming any major update and made it clear that he prefers sharing news only when everything is finalised.
When asked about cast changes, Farhan said, "There are too many rumours doing the rounds about too many things. I have always maintained that I honestly don’t like keeping any secrets when I am making a film. Every time I felt like something was ready to go, I put it out in the world and shared it with them. And I’ll do the same.”

Delay Due To Scheduling Challenges

Reports earlier by Deccan Chronicle in 2025 suggested that the film faced multiple delays because of date clashes among the lead actresses. Priyanka Chopra’s international commitments were said to be one of the biggest hurdles. It was also reported that aligning schedules was not the only issue. The team reportedly struggled to find suitable male co-stars, which further slowed down the progress.
Director’s Current Mindset
Farhan shared that he is currently taking time to reflect before choosing his next directorial project. He mentioned that recent experiences have made him pause and think deeply about his creative direction.
He said, "Right now, I am in a place where I really need to think about what I want to do next as a director... Once that happens, I’ll let the world know."
Upcoming Acting Project
Apart from directing, Farhan is preparing for a major acting role. He will portray sitar legend Ravi Shankar in a biopic series on The Beatles, directed by Sam Mendes. He described the opportunity as a huge responsibility and a dream come true.
