Hema Malini wrote a lengthy letter to Dharmendra on December 8, the anniversary of his birth, and provided previously unpublished pictures. She talked about how he left her heartbroken two weeks ago and that she is trying to rebuild her life together post his demise. The country was deeply shocked by the renowned actor's sudden passing on November 24. The actor, who would've turned 90, is survived by two wives and six children.

Hema Malini emphasized that happy times cannot be erased. She continued by saying that she is grateful to God for their two lovely kids, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol, as well as for the years they were able to spend together.

Hema Malini wrote on X (earlier Twitter), "Dharam ji, Happy birthday my dear heart. More than two weeks have passed since you left me heartbroken, slowly gathering up the pieces and trying to reconstruct my life, knowing that you will always be with me in spirit. The joyful memories of our life together can never be erased and just reliving those moments bring me great solace and happiness. I thank God for our lovely years together, for our two beautiful girls who reaffirm our love for each other and for all the beautiful, happy memories that will remain with me in my heart."

Hema Malini concluded her post by wishing her husband on his 90th birthday whilst remembering their happy 'together' moments. "On your birthday. My prayers for God to grant you the wealth of peace and happiness that you richly deserve for your humility and goodness of heart and your love for humanity. Happy birthday dear love. Our happy ‘together’ moments."

Hema Malini's daughter Esha Deol, Sunny Deol and even Abhay Deol already posted poigant photos and videos honouring the actor. While Sunny Deol shared a throwback video, Esha and Abhay posted old pictures of the late legendary actor.

After experiencing breathing problems, Dharmendra was admitted to the hospital at Breach Candy; however, he was discharged on November 12 to recover at home.
