Rajat, the son of producer and director Narendra Bedi, appeared in the most recent Aryan Khan-directed web series, The Ba***ds of Bollywood. The actor's father produced numerous films, including Jawani Deewani, Beenam, Adalat and Sanam Teri Kasam, to mention a few. Rajat Bedi talked about how his late father became alcoholic and even suffered depression. The actor revealed that he was only nine years old when his lost father, who was 45 at the time.
Rajat Bedi talked about how his father suffered as a result of the rivalry between Amitabh Bachchan and Rajesh Khanna. The actor recalled his father's last moments and the hardships he faced in a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan. He talked about his father's descent into depression and alcoholism.
Rajat Bedi said, "He died in front of my eyes. I came from school and he came out of the room and collapsed in front of me. He had become an alcoholic, he got into depression. He was doing very well but my grandfather had some liabilities of films and my father was taking care of that."

Rajat Bedi added that Kaka was upset that his father was collaborating with Amitabh Bachchan. He mentioned that his father Narendra and Rajesh Khanna had done two or three films. He shared, "I don’t know the real story, but my father had taken the unit to Pune for one or two films, and he was waiting for Rajesh Khanna to come. For 10 to 15 days, Rajesh Khanna didn’t come and my father just closed the projects. I guess heroes at that time were problematic or something."

Rajat Bedi revealed that Rajesh Khanna and his father used to drink all night long. He also revealed that his father used to smoke, consume Pan Parag, and lead an absolutely awful lifestyle, and that there used to be crates of alcohol in his home. The Koi Mil Gaya actor disclosed that Rajesh Khanna used to leave his dad at five or six in the morning, and they would drink all night long. For those who are unaware, Amitabh and Rajesh Khanna were bitter rivals in the 1960s and 1970s. Rajesh Khanna's rise to fame in the late 1960s and early 1970s, was shortlived after Big B's 1973 film Zanjeer was released.
Rajat Bedi's Career And Comeback
Rajat Bedi began his acting career in the 1998 movie 2001: Do Hazaar Ek. He later starred in movies like Koi, Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani, Indian, International Khiladi, and others. He also starred in Koi Mil Gaya and Partner. The actor left Bollywood and went on to star in the Telugu movie Ahimsa and the Kannada movie Jaggu Dada.
With the satirical web series Ba***ds of Bollywood, directed by Aryan Khan and aimed at the Hindi film industry, Rajat made an impressive comeback in 2025. In important roles, the show also features Bobby Deol, Raghav Juyal, Anya Singh, Lakshya, Sahher Bambba, and Manoj Pahwa. Both critics and viewers gave it favorable reviews, praising Aryan's witty direction and sense of humor in particular.
