Homebound Box Office Collection Day 1: Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa and Janhvi Kapoor starrer social drama movie, which is India’s official entry to Oscar nominations, released in theatres on September 26. The movie has been receiving positive reviews from the audience and the critics. But on the opening day, Homebound could not gather audiences at the ticket counters, leading to low box office performance. The weekend collection will only decide the fate of the movie.

As per Sacnilk, Homebound earned Rs 0.29 crore on opening day and the worldwide collection stands at Rs 0.32 crore.

What Is The Budget Of Homebound?

As per reports, the film has been made on a budget of Rs 3 to 5 crore.

What Is The Plot Of Homebound?

The movie is about two childhood friends, from a small village in North India, who have a dream of becoming police officers. They hope to do job that will bring them the respect they never had. When they came closer to their goal, pressure and struggle started creating issues in their friendships. Homebound features Ishaan Khatter as Mohammed Shoaib Ali, Vishal Jethwa as Chandan Kumar, Janhvi Kapoor as Sudha Bharti, Harshika Parmar as Vaishali, Shalini Vatsa as Phool, Chandan K Anand as Haroon Nawaz, Yogendra Vikram Singh as Arjun Mishra, Pankaj Dubey as Hassan Ali, Shreedhar Dubey as Vikas Tripathi, Dadhi R Pandey as Awdesh Kumar. The movie has been directed by Neeraj Ghaywan. It has been produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra. Homebound is based on A Friendship, a Pandemic and a Death Beside the Highway by Basharat Peer. It has a runtime of 122 minutes.

The film initially premiered on May 21, at the 78th Cannes Film Festival in France. Homebound was also selected at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival in the Gala Presentation. It was then screened on 10 September 2025 at the festival.
