Lara Dutta, the graceful Bollywood actress, recently took to Instagram to post a touching tribute along with precious memories of her late father, retired Wing Commander L K Dutta. He passed away on 31st May in Mumbai at the age of 84, after a long illness. Her emotional post reflected the deep bond she shared with her father. In her heartfelt note, Lara described how much he meant to her and the valuable life lessons he passed on.

Lara Dutta in the post wrote, “My wonderful, brave, fighter of a father, went quietly into the good night on the 31st of May…… He fought long and hard against an illness that debilitated him over the last few months…. He bore pain with the stoicism of a battle worn soldier and displayed a courage and willingness to beat the odds, that sometimes defied all logic…..” She also shared sweet memories of their time together from the moment he lifted her on his shoulders to see the stars, to when he taught her to waltz.

Meanwhile the Andaaz actress also remembered how her father helped shape her character, guiding her through life's ups and downs. Lara wrote, “I learnt to debate, argue, negotiate, reason and dazzle from my father…… I also learnt to embrace my responsibilities, sometimes stoically, and hold my head up high even in the most challenging of times…… I learnt to find bliss in a packet of potato chips and a tutti frutti ice cream because I knew it came with a scooter ride just for the two of us….”

Expressing her deep gratitude, Lara added, “I learnt to be brave, I learnt to be fearless, I learnt to stand up for myself and for others, I learnt to tell a good joke, even at my own expense….. I learnt to try and be selfless…. I learnt it all from him.” She ended her tribute with an emotional line: “I carry your heart dad…… I carry it in my heart.”

On the other hand, Lara’s touching post struck a chord with many in the film industry. Actress Dia Mirza commented, “The BEST Man. Will always carry him in my heart.” Celina Jaitley also shared her memories and said, "I have so many wonderful memories of dear, darling Uncle Handsome with his glorious moustache… Dad and Uncle sipping their whiskies in RSAOI Bangalore such cherished images that bring warmth and comfort." Soha Ali Khan also commented, "So much love". Lisa Ray wrote, "Deepest condolences Lara."

On the professional front, Lara Dutta is set to appear in the upcoming movie Welcome to the Jungle, reuniting with Akshay Kumar after their 2021 film Bell Bottom. The star-studded cast also includes Raveena Tandon, Suniel Shetty, Disha Patani, Aftab Shivdasani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, and Tusshar Kapoor.
