The Ramayana trailer has sparked fresh debate online. While fans discussed Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi as Ram and Sita, Lara Dutta's look as Kaikeyi also drew attention, with some social media users calling her costume and styling 'too modern' for the epic.

Lara Dutta's Kaikeyi look trolled by netizens

A netizen wrote on X, "Lara Lara is looking like some indian sasuma from daily soap in this and not someone from treta yug."

Another user wrote on X, "That saree and hairdo makes her look like a rich mother in law from a Star Plus serial/Zee Tv serial."

Lara Dutta thanked the makers for giving her the opportunity to play Kaikeyi in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana. The film, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol and Yash, is set to release during Diwali 2026, with Part 2 expected in Diwali 2027.

Backed by Namit Malhotra, DNEG and Monster Mind Creations, the epic will release in two parts on Diwali 2026 and Diwali 2027.
