‘It Was So Intense And Heavy…’: Kriti Sanon Reveals Why She Craved For A Fun, Rom-Com After Tere Ishk Mein

Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon has been riding an unstoppable wave of stardom after her movie Tere Ishk Mein with Dhanush crossed the Rs 100 crore milestone in just two weeks of theatrical run. Kriti is currently experiencing new heights as she recently wrapped up the shoot of her much-anticipated movie Cocktail 2 alongside Shahid Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna. Kriti recently opened up about her character in her upcoming movie and talked about the success of Tere Ishk Mein. She also shared her experience of reuniting with Shahid after a long time.

Kriti Sanon recently shared her desire to take on a lighter project after her intense role as Mukti. In a conversation with Mid-Day, she shared, "I wanted a movie like Cocktail 2, especially after Tere Ishk Mein, which was so intense and heavy. I wanted to be in this light, fun, rom-com space. Things fell in place at the right time."

She further added, "Homi has this fun energy and coolness that he brings to his characters and movies. He likes to find his characters. He does not want them to be perfect; he wants them to make mistakes and do things that real people do and still be cool."

Talking about her shooting experience, Kriti shared, "It has been an absolute mad ride."

Reflecting upon Tere Ishk Mein and its massive success, she highlighted, "When a film's critical appreciation is combined with box office numbers, that is the best thing anyone associated with the film can ask for."
Defending her character, Mukti, she claimed, "Mukti has been one of my most layered characters to date. A lot is unspoken; a lot is implied between the lines and through the eyes. That's where the character can come across as great. But the fact that she is flawed makes her relatable."

Kriti also joked about coming together with Shahid Kapoor for another movie and said, "It was amazing working with Shahid, since I was a human being this time."

Kriti Sanon’s Upcoming Projects

After a strong performance in 2025, Kriti Sanon is now all set to explore what the next year has in store for her. The actress is all set to appear in Cocktail 2 alongside Shahid Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna. The movie is slated to release in 2026.
According to reports, Sanon is also going to be the leading lady in Farhan Akhtar's Don 3.
