Jailer 2 is one of the much-awaited action films and a sequel to Rajinikanth’s 2023 blockbuster. The makers are leaving no stone unturned to keep fans on the edge of their seats with the latest updates. The film has been creating buzz, especially for its cast. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the action-comedy thriller is currently in production and is aiming for a mid-2026 theatrical release. Amid the hype, Kannada actor Shiva Rajkumar has confirmed his involvement in Rajinikanth's Jailer 2, revealing that his role is more than a cameo, unlike in the original.

Jailer 2: Shiva Rajkumar Shares Details About His Role

Shiva Rajkumar revealed that he has already shot for Jailer 2 and shared additional shoot dates for the second week of January. He told  Behindwoods, "Jailer 2 will somewhat continue from where the 2023 film left off. It’s more than a cameo for me in this film. I have shot for a day. Again, I’ll join on Jan 8th, 9th, and 10th."

Shiva Rajkumar played the role as Narasimha, a gangster from South Kartanaka in the first part. Jailer was the massive hit upon its release in theatres. The actor credited director Nelson Dilipkumar for the success of the first part, praising his thoughtful character-driven casting approach. He stated, “Jailer was a universal content. Director Nelson cleverly used Superstar Rajinikanth in an age-appropriate role. That’s why the film became a mega hit in every state."

All About Jailer 2

Directed by Nelson, Jailer 2 is backed by Kalanithi Maran's Sun Pictures. Megastar Rajinikanth will reprise his iconic role alongside SJ Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Anna Rajan, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, and Mirnaa. Besides Shiva Rajkumar, Mohanlal, Vijay Sethupathi, Vidya Balan, Mithun Chakraborty, and others are expected to make special appearances.

Shiva Rajkumar's Upcoming Projects

Apart from Jailer 2, Shiva Rajkumar is gearing up for the release of the film 45,  directed by music composer Arjun Janya. The movie is scheduled to hit cinemas on December 25. The film 45 also features a star-studded cast, including Upendra, Raj B. Shetty, Rajendran, Kaustubha Mani, Jisshu Sengupta, and several others in key roles.
