Korean actors Jo Bo-Ah and Kim Soo-Hyun’s highly anticipated Kdrama Knock Off has been the topic of discussion after it was indefinitely postponed due to the ongoing controversy of Queen of Tears star surrounding late actress Kim Sae-ron. In March, Disney+ announced the decision to delay the show after careful consideration. Now, lead actress Jo Bo-yoon aka Jo Bo-ah, has broken her silence on the matter.
During her appearance at the Netflix premiere of her new K-drama Dear Hongrang, Jo Bo-ah reacted in an interview to the Disney+ show Knock Off, which was initially included in the streaming platform’s 2025 lineup. When she was asked about the show, the actress became conscious and revealed that talking about the troubled show might be hurtful.
As quoted by Koreaboo, she said, " I know that a lot of you are curious to know, but I really can’t help but approach [talking about Knock Off] with a lot of caution. Just because what I say could unintentionally hurt someone, so I’d rather hold back on commenting. I will say Knock Off is a project where everyone involved poured a lot of energy and affection into, and I believe that effort will be recognized someday and lead to a good outcome."

About Knock Off:The Kdrama revolves around a tale of a office worker, played by Kim Seong-Jun, who lost his job during the 1997 Asian financial crisis. To survive, he gets into the counterfeit goods business and transforms himself to become world's counterfeit goods king. The show depicts the financial turmoil in South Korea and how it shook people at that time. Originally, the South Korean black comedy television series was scheduled to be released on Disney+ in April 2025, but it has been postponed due to Kim Soo-hyun's relationship controversy.
Knock Off not only became a highly anticipated series for its cast but also for its massive production scale. Reportedly, the production budget is estimated to be around ₩60.0 billion KRW (around USD 42.0 million). Kim Soo Hyun’s fee was taking home ₩9.00 billion KRW (around USD 6.29 million). If the show remains unreleased, then Kim Soo Hyun’s penalty is projected to be over USD 100 million.
