Jr NTR And Janhvi Kapoor’s Action-Thriller Movie Devara Part 2 Shelved?

Devara 2: Speculation around Devara 2, the much-anticipated sequel to Jr NTR’s action drama Devara, has grown stronger after new reports suggested that the film may have been put on hold for now. Although the makers have not issued any official statement, the buzz has left fans curious and eagerly waiting for a clear update about the film’s progress. Devara: Part 1 performed strongly at the box office, especially in North America, where it earned more than Adam Driver’s Megalopolis. The film marked Jr NTR’s first solo release in six years since Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava (2018). Co-starring Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan, the film follows a man who embarks on a dangerous sea journey to protect his people.

According to a report in 123Telugu, director Koratala Siva has been reworking the script for the sequel. However, Jr NTR is said to be unhappy with the latest draft, reportedly feeling that the story ‘did not land right’ and seemed ‘forced’. As of now, there is no confirmation from the team, and these details remain unverified industry rumours. On September 27, the makers officially announced Devara 2 with a striking poster shared across social media. The poster featured Jr NTR in a rugged look, staring intensely into the camera, with “Devara 2” boldly displayed. The caption celebrated the first film’s impact, reading, “It’s been one year since HAVOC struck the shores… Be it the FEAR it unleashed or the LOVE it earned, the streets will never forget. Now gear up for #Devara2.” The announcement instantly excited fans, who have been waiting for a major update ever since.

Jr NTR Earlier Spoke About Devara 2

Meanhwile, in a previous interview with the Associated Press, Jr NTR opened up about the sequel’s development. He confirmed that a few scenes for Devara 2 had already been filmed, but stressed that the team wanted to ensure the second part was bigger and more powerful. He said, “We’ve shot a few sequences, but now we have this responsibility because part one did well. We want to take more time to shape part two into something bigger and better. I’ve asked my director Koratala Siva to take a month off to work on it properly.”

At present, Jr NTR is busy filming Prashanth Neel’s upcoming action drama. The actor is expected to begin the next schedule soon. His most recent release was War 2, where he starred alongside Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani. The film is part of YRF’s growing spy universe.
