Marathi film and theatre actress Jyoti Chanekar passed away at the age of 68. She breathed her last in Pune after battling a prolonged illness. Jyoti Chandekar was celebrated for her commanding performances and remarkable screen presence, leaving a lasting impression in both films and television.
One of her most acclaimed roles came in Mee Sindhutai Sapkal (2010), where she portrayed the mother of Sindhutai. The film earned widespread praise and her performance was highly appreciated by critics and audiences. She went on to appear in several notable films, including Guru (2016), Deva Ek Atrangi (2017), and Ticha Umbartha.
With a career spanning over five decades, Chandekar began acting at the age of 12 and went on to feature in numerous Marathi films, plays, and TV serials. She was admired for her ability to portray a wide variety of characters with authenticity and emotional depth.
Her film credits include Dharmakanya, Dholki, Paoolwaat and Sojourner, while on television she became a household name through popular serials such as Tujha Majha Breakup and Tu Sukhakarta.
