Kanika Kapoor faced breach of security when an unidentified man stormed the stage and grabbed her during her live performance at the MeGong Festival on Sunday night. Numerous videos of the incident have sparked outrage and rekindled worries about the security of artists at public gatherings. The Baby Doll singer was shown completely engrossed in her performance when a man unexpectedly rushed onto the stage and tried to raise her by grabbing her.

Kanika Kapoor On Singer's Exploitation

Kanika Kapoor's tragedy on stage occurred just days after she gained notoriety for openly discussing the financial inequalities Bollywood playback singers endure. The vocalist continues to be one of Bollywood's most renowned and sought-after voices, with hits like Baby Doll, Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan, and Lovely dominating music charts for more than ten years. Over time, she has also emerged as one of the few popular singers who is prepared to speak out about unjust contracts, exploitation, and structural problems in the industry.

The singer disclosed that she and other artists are frequently paid startlingly little for their labour in an interview with Uorfi Javed. She revealed, "Singers don’t really get paid. I can show you all the contracts — we get Rs 101."
