Earlier at the Kantara Chapter 1 event, Jr NTR said, “I got the opportunity to see firsthand how hard he worked to make Kantara Chapter 1. It is not easy to make Kantara Chapter 1. You must have seen it on social media. He took me to a temple near his hometown, where you have to wade through water to reach it.”

“There's no path to go to the temple there, they made one because they put up a set up there to shoot. It's humanly impossible. If it was not for Rishabh sir, if it was not for the team that he believed it, I really don't think anything would've been possible for Kantara Chapter 1,” he added.

Rishab also talked about the challenges of being an actor and director for the film. He said, “In some action sequences I was performing, and at the same time, in the background, there were issues. Immediately, I would grab the mic, go to a height and talk to the artists. It used to switch immediately between actor and director. But the character I play is also like that so it felt organic.”

Kantara Chapter 1 is set against the backdrop of the Kadamba period in Karnataka. It focuses on the Kadambas, who were significant rulers of parts of Karnataka. They played a major role in shaping the architecture and culture of the region.
