Her first look from the show is going viral on social media, giving fans a wave of nostalgia. She is seen flaunting a maroon Banarasi saree paired with heavy traditional jewellery and a signature bun hairstyle, instantly evoking memories of the original show. This comeback, television lovers have been waiting for from the actress-turned-politician. The look has taken the internet by storm and built even more anticipation for the show.

The actress can be seen posing in a maroon saree with heavy traditional jewellery, sindoor and a bindi. Her hair is tied back in a neat, clean bun. Smriti flaunts her smile in the viral photo. Her first look is being widely spread online, drawing parallels to her original look from the show.

Recently, the show completed 25 years since its debut in July 2000. To mark this occasion, Smriti shared a throwback picture from Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi featuring herself along with Apara Mehta and Sudha Shivpuri. Sharing the post on Instagram, she wrote, "25 years ago, a story entered Indian homes and quietly became part of countless lives."

She added, "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi wasn’t just a show—it was emotion, memory, ritual. A time when families paused everything to sit together… cry, laugh, hope. To every viewer who made Tulsi a part of their own family—thank you. This journey wasn’t mine alone. It was ours.

Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 was reportedly slated to kick off on July 3, but it is now facing a delay due to several reasons. Earlier, Amar Upadhyay also addressed the delay issue and told Hindustan Times, “Yes, it’s true. The set had to be reworked. Apparently, the color combination on screen wasn’t translating the way it should. Ektaa knows exactly what she wants—she’s a perfectionist. And this is Kyunki… it’s not just another show. It’s a legacy, and she wants to do everything that’s best for the show.
