Lakshya Lalwani shot to fame almost immediately with his latest Netflix series, The Ba***ds Of Bollywood. The actor debuted with 2024 movie, Kill. During a recent conversation, the actor talked about his experience switching from television to the Hindi film industry. He claimed to have declined a Rs 25,000 a day television role in favour of a Bollywood career. Lakshya disclosed that he pushed himself it wasn't his fault when two of his films were shelved.
Lakshya shared that he pushed himself to keep viewing movies, going to the gym, reading scenes, and vocal training. Speaking to Raj Shamani on his podcast, he said, "I was blank. I was numb to it. I just let it happen. Luckily, I never had self-doubt. I genuinely felt nothing was set up for me. I had no plans of becoming an actor; I just happened to become one."
Lakshya continued, "The only thing I knew was hard work. So why should I stop doing that? That’s what’s made me. Who do I blame? God? Or Karan Johar? I can’t blame anyone, na. The film got shelved, and that’s it. For some reason, I had the self-belief that it was happening for a reason. Tables would turn one day. There wasn’t a single day throughout Covid when I didn’t work hard."

Lakshya's shift from television to film appeared to be headed for success. After months of trying out, he finally got a three-film deal with Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, which is a dream come true for any upstart. However, the plan didn't work out. Collin D'Cunha's love comedy Dostana 2, starring Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor, and Shanaya Kapoor's romance drama Bedhadak were both stalled after going on floors.
The actor recalled, "I just told myself, it’s not your fault. Your job is to wake up, do your voice training, read your scenes, go to the gym, watch movies, and keep doing what you have been doing. Don’t change your routine."
Lakshya Left TV To Star In Movies
Lakshya even disclosed that he quit a profitable TV show to pursue his dream of becoming a movie star. "After Porus ended, I got another TV show where they offered me Rs 20,000– Rs 25,000 per day. My father said, 'That’s a lot of money. I’ve never seen that kind of money in my whole life. Just grab it.’ But there was a stubbornness within me. Why couldn't I become a movie star? What do I lack? This one’s doing it, that one’s doing it, so why couldn't I?"
Lakshya's Upcoming Movies
