'Madhuri Dixit's Team Misinformed...': Toronto Event Organisers React After She Faced Backlash For Arriving Late

The organizers have released a statement following criticism of Madhuri Dixit's live performance of Dil se.. Madhuri in Toronto, which was deemed a 'misleading' event. True Sound Live Ltd. clarified that the 'event commenced on time' and that it went 'exactly as scheduled.' It went on to say that Madhuri's management team 'misinformed her about the call time,' which is why she was late for the function. Several fans who were present said that although the event was advertised as a concert, it was actually more of a chat session.

Madhuri Dixit's Toronto show, Dil Se… Madhuri, caused controversy because viewers criticized it for being misleading and delayed. The event started on schedule, according to True Sound Live Ltd., who also faulted her crew for a misunderstanding. The statement read - "We at True Sound Live Ltd. would like to clarify the facts regarding the recent Madhuri Dixit – The Golden Girl of Bollywood show held in Toronto, following misleading social media commentary. The event commenced on time with a high-energy opening act featuring exceptional singers from Indian Idol, exactly as scheduled."

Madhuri Dixit's Toronto show organizers responded to the 'misleading social media commentary' in their statement. "The show’s format, as shared with Madhuri Dixit’s management, included a Q&A session at 8:30 PM followed by Madhuri’s 60-minute performance segment. However, despite our production team’s readiness and communication throughout the evening, Madhuri Dixit’s own management team misinformed her about the call time, resulting in her late arrival around 10 PM. This delay was completely beyond the control of True Sound Live Ltd," it added.

Additionally, the organizers have requested that fans view recordings that 'clearly show Madhuri Dixit’s on-stage presence and performance.'

"We also want to clarify that certain backstage individuals, including Shreya Gupta, were preoccupied with personal video recordings instead of supporting the artist’s timely coordination, which further added to the confusion. Attached videos clearly show Madhuri Dixit’s on-stage presence and performance, and we invite the public to view the footage and judge objectively," concluded the statement.

Following the event, a number of people criticized the organizers on social media for misrepresenting what was actually a discussion show as a concert. Madhuri's tardiness was criticized by some, while others called the evening a complete waste of time and money.
