Miss Universe 2025: Mexico’s Fatima Bosch has been crowned Miss Universe 2025 at the grand finale held in Bangkok, Thailand. The 25-year-old received the crown from last year’s winner, Victoria Kjær Theilvig of Denmark, in an emotional moment that saw fellow contestants cheering her on. The event featured 122 participants from around the world, making it one of the largest editions to date. Thailand’s Praveenar Singh finished as the first runner-up, followed by Venezuela’s Stephany Abasali, the Philippines’ Ahtisa Manalo, and Ivory Coast’s Olivia Yace. Fatima’s journey to the crown was particularly memorable as she had earlier walked out of an event in heels and an evening gown after being publicly criticised by a Thai pageant director.

During the finale, contestants were asked questions centred on global issues and how they would use the Miss Universe platform to empower young girls. Fatima Bosch won hearts with her confident and heartfelt response. She said, “Believe in the power of your authenticity. Your dreams matter, your heart matters. Never let anyone make you doubt your worth.” Her answer perfectly reflected the year’s theme, The Power of Love, which focused on unity, empowerment, and compassion.

Fatima Bosch Controversy Explained

Meanhwile, Fatima Bosch was at the centre of controversy earlier in the competition when Miss Universe host Nawat Itsaragrisil reportedly criticised her during a livestream, accusing her of not posting enough promotional content. He allegedly called her a ‘dumb’, though he later denied using the term. The situation escalated when security was called, prompting Fatima to walk out with Miss Iraq in protest. She said, “What your director did is not respectful: he called me dumb. The world needs to see this because we are empowered women and this is a platform for our voice.” The incident sparked widespread support for her and opened conversations about respect and fair treatment in beauty pageants.
