Mohit Suri Reacts Tp Saiyaara Reviews
Mohit Suri opened up about viral videos showing audiences with reactions like fainting, screaming, and cheering during the film's screening, who were believed by netizens to be paid PR. He revealed that some people he considered friends tried to blackmail him for good review of Saiyaara.
In a chat with Faridoon Shahryar on YouTube, the director said, “I just don’t read reviews. A couple of them called me also, saying, ‘We are going to write a bad review unless you…’ I’m like, ‘Write it, I won’t read it’. I’ll make a film, you have a right to watch it or not watch it. Same way, you make your content, I won’t read it.”
Citing his hit film Aashiqui 2 as an example that was ignored by certain media circles entirely. He added, "Now, when my film releases, I delete all my social media. I stay away, because I don’t know which one is genuine and which one is not. Some of them are my friends, and I know that they charge money for it."
Further, the industry doubted him after his film Ek Villain Returns underperformed at the box office. However, it was YRF’s Aditya Chopra who encouraged Suri to bring a story that was initially planned as Aashiqui 3, but creative differences between production houses led to the creation of Saiyaara. Talking about the same, the director stated, "Aditya not only believed in me but pushed me to make Saiyaara with fresh faces."
