The rising misuse of artificial intelligence to morph and generate fake identities is causing concern among celebrities. Rashmika Mandanna is among the actresses who has been vocal about this issue ever since a deepfake video of her went viral in late 2023. She has once again raised her voice through a social media post, stating that AI is being misused to create vulgarity and target women, leading to moral decline in certain people. She also called out for strict and unforgiving punishment for those misusing the technology. Lately, several celebrities have raised the alarm and Rashmika's latest statement has once again garnered attention.
Taking to X, Rashmika shared a post that read, "When truth can be manufactured, discernment becomes our greatest defence." She further stated, " AI is a force for progress, but its misuse to create vulgarity and target women signals a deep moral decline in certain people. Remember, the internet is no longer a mirror of truth. It is a canvas where anything can be fabricated. Let us rise above misuse and use AI to build a more dignified and progressive society. Choose responsibility over recklessness. If people cannot act like humans, then strict & unforgiving punishment must be served to them."
The actress also tagged the official handle of the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre, Cyberdost.
