Following severe online backlash, political reactions, and multiple FIRs, Samay Raina pulled the plug on the project and made all previous episodes private on YouTube on February 12, 2025. The comedian later confirmed he took a long break to deal with the intense stress and anxiety caused by the legal scrutiny.
Samay Raina formally announced the India's Got Latent revival during his April 2026 stand-up special Still Alive, where he joked that “Season 1 couldn’t have ended on a higher note”.
