Swara Bhasker Calls Veere Di Wedding Most Challenging Movie; Talks About Pressure Of ‘Looking Hot’ Every Day

Swara Bhasker, who was last seen in Pati Patni Aur Panga with her husband, talked about the pressure of losing weight in order to look hot in the Bollywood movie Veere Di Wedding. The film was released in 2018, also starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor and others. Swara played the role of a bold and daring girl who lives life on her own terms. While the movie and her role were well-received by the audience, she was under a lot of pressure to align with her on-screen character.

Swara Bhasker opened up about her most challenging role in a recent conversation. She told Mirchi Plus, "It might be surprising but my character in Veere Di Wedding was the toughest to play. The kind of actor I am, prepping for a role – body language, dialogue, lines, I can do that. But, the most difficult thing for me to do are glamorous roles. My character in Veere Di Wedding was so much focused on glamour – clothes, looks, and a lot of pressure to lose weight and look sexy, hot."

Swara Bhasker added, "I feel like I have never been more stressed in my career than when I was doing that film. It was out of my depth. Luckily, Rhea was also the stylist of the film. Her styling talent is of an international level, so I was in very good hands. Ultimately, it came out very well and the shoot was fun. I kept my own authenticity too, in that character, hence it worked. But the process was very hard for me."

While shooting the Tareefan song, Swara recalled being asked to look a certain way and said, "It was the hardest to look good every day, wearing lenses, makeup, new hair. At times, I used to wear the clothes and ask them, ‘What is this? Are these clothes?’ I remember when we were shooting Tareefan, I wore a bodysuit. I had heard what it was for the first time. It is basically a one-piece swimming costume with a deep neck, along with heels or boots."

"We had to leave the vanity van from the parking and walk till the studio. I asked Rhea, ‘These are the clothes? There’s nothing to wear underneath?’ She said that there’s a vibe in this outfit, with the fishnet stockings, etc. I said that I am half-naked, how will I walk to the studio like this? I asked for a towel and wrapped it around me, so it was hard for me," concluded Swara Bhasker.

Swara Bhasker's Personal and Professional Life

Swara Bhasker married politician Fahad Ahmad in an intimate ceremony in February 2023. The couple welcomed their darling daughter, Raabiyaa in September 2023.

On the professional front, Swara was last in the movie Sheer Qorma which was released in August 2023. The actress is now coming back with another movie, Mrs Falani, which is slated to release on December 10, 2025.
