Vrusshabha Release Date Announced: Mohanlal’s Action-Adventure Epic To Hit Theatres This Christmas 2025

Vrusshabha Release Date Announced: After a series of delays, Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has finally announced the release date of his much-awaited film Vrusshabha. The period action-adventure drama will hit cinemas worldwide on December 25, 2025, just in time for Christmas. Originally slated for a Diwali release and later postponed to November, Vrusshabha has been one of Mohanlal’s most ambitious projects in recent years. Directed by Nanda Kishore, the film is a grand bilingual production shot simultaneously in Malayalam and Telugu, with additional dubbed versions in Hindi and Kannada, marking a true pan-Indian release. 

Sharing a brand-new motion poster on social media, Mohanlal wrote, “Some stories are more than cinema, they’re legacies. This Christmas, witness that legacy roar to life in Vrusshabha.” The post quickly went viral, with fans celebrating the festive release announcement. The story reportedly explores themes of love, legacy, and destiny, revolving around an emotional father-son bond that spans generations. Mohanlal is said to play a powerful warrior king, a role that promises to blend emotion, grandeur, and intense action.

Meanwhile, the makers described Vrusshabha as a “saga of love, destiny, and vengeance,” mounted on an enormous scale with high-end visual effects and extensive post-production work. In a joint statement, the producers explained their decision to move the release date, saying, “We never compromise on quality. Our goal has always been to offer audiences the best cinematic experience possible. Hence, we felt Christmas 2025 would be the perfect festive gift for fans across the world.” The film features elaborate battle sequences choreographed by renowned stunt coordinators Peter Hein, Stunt Silva, Ganesh, and Nikhil, ensuring a visual spectacle for audiences.

The music is composed by Sam CS, with Academy Award-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty handling sound design. Dialogues are penned by SRK, Janardhan Maharshi, and Karthik. Presented by Connekkt Media and Balaji Telefilms in association with Abishek S Vyas Studios, the film is produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, C.K. Padma Kumar, Varun Mathur, and others.
