Coolie OTT Release Date Confirmed: Lokesh Kanagaraj's action-thriller Coolie, starring Rajinikanth, is about to make its OTT debut. The superstar celebrated his 50th year in the film industry with its release. Cinephiles and Rajni fans will soon be able to enjoy the suspenseful action scenes at the comfort of their homes. The Tamil movie released in theatres on August 14 and will be available on streaming services less than a month after its theatrical debut. Coolie revolves around a mansion owner named Deva, who learns about the death of a long-lost friend and decides to find out what caused his sudden passing. This leads him to a smuggling organisation with whom he once had ties.

Coolie stars Nagarjuna and Soubin Shahir as the main antagonists while Upendra and Aamir Khan make cameo appearances. Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Rachita Ram, Kanna Ravi, and other actors serve as supporting characters in the Tamil actioner. As Coolie wraps up its theatrical run, OTT behamoth has announced it OTT release date and platform. Here's when and where you can watch Rajinikanth's massy actioner digitally:

Coolie OTT Release Date Confirmed

Coolie will be available in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam on Prime Video from September 11, 2025. The movie followed the four weeks theatrical window before its OTT release. Due to its full-fledged release in national chains, the Hindi version will only be released eight weeks after its theatrical debut.

OTT release dates are often announced by Prime Video closer to streaming, but this time the service has surprised users. For the unversed, the action thriller Coolie was directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, which marks the first-ever collaboration between Rajinkanth and the filmmaker.

Coolie Box Office Performance And Budget

Rajinikanth made a ton of money at the box office with his latest movie, Coolie. In a time when many films have failed to connect with viewers, his action thriller made the box office thump in the first and second weeks. The movie amassed a substantial fortune in North America, the UK, Ireland, Malaysia, Singapore, and Sri Lanka. The film prevailed in the Independence Day 2025 box office competition despite competing with War 2 in theaters.

Coolie earned about Rs 1 crore in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi combined, as per latest reports from industry tracker, sacnilk. A total of Rs 282.45 crore was made at the box office till day 21. Meanwhile, the action thriller has become one of the highest grossing films in Tamil Nadu, earning a total of Rs 150 crore. With new releases like Lokah and Hridayapoorvam dominating international markets, Coolie has halted at Rs 510 crore, and growth indicators appear to be weaken.

Coolie has been mounted on an enormous Rs 350 crore, as per media reports. The Rajinikanth-led movie needs to at least break even on its budget in order to be deemed a definite victory in India.
