Tourist Family OTT Release Delayed: Tourist Family, which starred well-known actors M Sasikumar and Simran, opened in theaters on May 1 and was well-reviewed for its powerful performances and poignant plot. The heartfelt movie, which was directed by Abishan Jeevinth, is about a Tamil family who were compelled to flee Sri Lanka because of political unrest and the COVID-19 pandemic. Their attempts to settle in India and adapt to a new life are depicted in this Tamil movie.
Tourist Family director revealed that superstar Rajnikanth personally called him to show his appreciation for the Tamil movie, calling it 'extraordinary.'
Tourist Family OTT Release Delayed?
Tourist Family was scheduled to debut on OTT following a triumphant theatrical run. The Tamil movie would have started streaming on JioHotstar on May 31, 2025, according to several reports.
The most recent information from 123Telugu reveals that Tourist Family is following the footsteps of Mohanlal led Malayalam movie, Thudarum. The post-theatrical streaming rights to these two movies were purchased by Jio Hotstar. The creators of Tourist Family and Thudarum have allegedly asked the OTT platform to postpone the digital release.

The release date falls four weeks after its theatrical release, which is standard procedure in the Tamil film industry, even if the platform has not yet provided an official confirmation.

The Tamil family entertainer stars Yogi Babu, MS Bhaskar, Ramesh Thilak, Bagavathi Perumal, and Elango Kumaravel in key parts.
Meanwhile, Tourist Family accomplished a rare feat by being the first small-budget Tamil film to be shown in the UK's coveted SUPERSCREEN format, which is usually reserved for high-end, star-driven films, according to distribution company Ahimsa Entertainment.
