Varun Dhawan’s upcoming film Baby John is gearing up for a grand Christmas release in 2024. The film, directed by Atlee and helmed by A. Kaleeswaran, has already generated significant buzz with the announcement of Salman Khan’s special appearance. Salman will be seen playing a senior police officer, adding to the excitement with his portrayal of a cop and mentor to Varun’s character.
Baby John is the Hindi remake of Atlee’s hit Tamil film Theri (2016), where the senior cop was originally portrayed by actor Prabhu. Salman’s character will have some thrilling fight sequences and dialogues, making his cameo a treat for fans. A Mid-Day report reveals that director Kalees and writer Sumit Arora are working meticulously to ensure that the superstar’s scenes stand out. “He will be seen as a swashbuckling cop with some tongue-in-cheek dialogues,” states the report.

The storyline revolves around Varun Dhawan’s Baby John, a former police officer who goes into hiding to protect his daughter. As events unfold, Salman’s character steps in to mentor Baby John, encouraging him to rejoin the force and face his past. This mentor-mentee dynamic is expected to be one of the highlights of the film.
The film also features a star-studded cast, including Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, Jackie Shroff, and Rajpal Yadav in pivotal roles. Produced by Murad Khetani, Priya Atlee and Jyoti Deshpande, the film is presented by Jio Studios in collaboration with A for Apple Studios and Cine1 Studios, with music composed by S Thaman.
For fans eagerly awaiting the film, a teaser is expected to drop around Diwali. Reports suggest that the teaser will be attached to two big-ticket Diwali releases—Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. This move aims to capture the attention of cinema-goers ahead of the Christmas release. Baby John will hit theatres on December 25, 2024, promising an action-packed holiday season for fans of both Varun Dhawan and Salman Khan.
