In Matka, Varun Tej takes on the complex character of Vasu, a gangster who evolves through various looks and ages. The teaser opens with a powerful scene featuring Sai Kumar as a jailer, who challenges Vasu to pursue wealth and power by controlling 90% of the world’s wealth. While the teaser remains somewhat mysterious about the specific methods Vasu employs to achieve his ambitions, it clearly portrays his journey from an ordinary individual to a feared Matka King. Matka gambling, though illegal in India, forms the backdrop of this period drama, hinting at a story deeply rooted in the setting of Vizag.

The teaser also introduces Nora Fatehi and Meenakshi Chaudhary, who add glamour to the film, although their characters remain under wraps for now. Additionally, Naveen Chandra appears to play a character suspicious of Vasu’s intentions, adding an intriguing layer to the narrative. Nostalgic elements, such as a cutout of NTR and scenes set in the Kurupam market, enrich the teaser and ground it in local culture.

Produced by Dr Vijayender Reddy Teegala and Rajani Thalluri under the banners of Vyra Entertainment and SRT Entertainment, Matka is anticipated to meet high expectations, thanks to Karuna Kumar's successful track record with films like Palasa 1978 and Sridevi Soda Center. The cinematography is handled by A. Kishor Kumar, with Karthika Srinivas R. editing the film, while music is composed by GV Prakash Kumar. Matka is set to hit theatres on November 14.
