In addition to their popularity in films, actors like Ram Charan, Chiranjeevi, NTR Jr., Pawan Kalyan, Yash, and others also have devoted fan bases. When it comes to loyalty, there is a boundary, but at times, possessiveness can be toxic, and these "fans" have gone above and above for their beloved celebrities.
Our love for certain actors is demonstrated by a variety of actions, including liking their Facebook page, following them on Twitter, Instagram, and other social media, using their images as our display pictures, watching their film at the first showing of the first day, and repeatedly watching their films, also sending them gifts or flowers and making paintings and crafts for them. Here's a look at to what extent a South Indian fan can go for his favourite actor:
Fans Have Killed Each Other
According to a report in Dailyo.in, it was in 2016 when a fight about who is the bigger star between a Junior NTR fan, and a Pawan Kalyan follower resulted in the murder of the Pawan Kalyan supporter. But this was not the first time a devoted Pawan Kalyan fan had fallen prey to the actor's fame. Rakesh, a devoted supporter of Pawan Kalyan who saw the movie Saddar Gabbar Singh last year, was stabbed by Ravi, another supporter after the two got into an argument.
Recently, In a tragic turn of events, an innocent young man was killed in a fan fight in the state of Andhra Pradesh, which has shocked the entire nation. According to a report in OTTPlay, a Prabhas fan killed a Pawan Kalyan fan after a minor disagreement turned deadly. Kishore and Hari Kumar, two young employees, headed to Attili, AP, for the home painting job. Kishore had a WhatsApp status on Pawan Kalyan, which Hari Kumar insisted on altering with a photo of Prabhas. A lighthearted argument between the two resulted in Hari hitting a rod into Kishore's head several times, resulting in latter's death.
Fans Have Built Temples
Though we have 33 million Gods and Goddesses, people also have temples made for their favourite actors. The South Indian actress Kushboo had a temple built for her in Tiruchi. Not only this, the entire village of Bagganadu in Karnataka's Chitradurga district worships Kichcha Sudeep from the film "Makhi" by praying to his picture every day. In south India, it is customary to give milk to an actor's cutout and decorate it with garlands.
