Shraddha also confirmed that the story for Stree 3 is already in development. Director Amar Kaushik has come up with a new plot, which has left the actress excited about what’s next. "When Amar sir told me he had a story for Stree 3, I got very excited because I know it’s going to be something amazing. I can’t wait to hear what it’s about," she added.
After the box office success of Stree 2, reports surfaced of a credit war between Shraddha Kapoor and her co-star Rajkummar Rao. Publicists of both stars allegedly clashed over who deserved more credit for the film’s success. ShraddReadha has now put those rumours to rest, reiterating that the movie’s success was due to the efforts of the entire team.
Stree 2, a sequel to the 2018 hit Stree, takes the story forward from where the original ended. While the first part focuses on a female ghost who seeks revenge for the wrongs done to her, the sequel introduces a new antagonist, Sarkata, a headless villain who preys on women with an independent voice. The film stars Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi, and Aparshakti Khurana.
Released on August 15, 2024, Stree 2 became a major box office hit, earning over ₹700 crore in India. It was part of producer Dinesh Vijan's horror-comedy universe, which also includes films like Bhediya and Munjya.
