The passing of Sushant Singh Rajput came as a profound shock to the entire nation, leaving a deep void in the hearts of cinema enthusiasts everywhere. On June 14, Sushant Singh was discovered deceased at his residence in Mumbai's Bandra area. Initially, the Mumbai Police concluded that the actor's death was a result of suicide. However, Rajput's family from Patna, Bihar, insisted on an investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Sushant Singh Rajput rose to prominence after his role in the television series Pavitra Rishta, where he starred alongside Ankita Lokhande. He ventured into Bollywood in 2013 with the film Kai Po Che, captivating audiences with his portrayal of Ishaan. His portrayal of the legendary cricketer in M.S. Dhoni-The Untold Story further solidified his status as a talented actor. Despite his impressive career trajectory, Sushant faced challenges due to his packed schedule, which led to missed opportunities in the film industry.
Sushant Singh Rajput was the preferred choice for many filmmakers, including Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Aditya Chopra, Ekta Kapoor, Abhishek Kapoor, and others. However, out of the four projects he was offered, three went to other actors, and he missed out on the remaining one. According to a report, Sanjay Leela Bhansali disclosed to police officials that Sushant had been initially considered for lead roles in his films Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani, which were eventually portrayed by Ranveer Singh.
Additionally, Shahid Kapoor took on the role of Raja Ratan Singh in Padmaavat, originally offered to Sushant. In an interview, Sushant mentioned, "I was committed to many films, but due to delays in two projects, I couldn't take up other opportunities. Unfortunately, I lost out on 12 films in the past year because of this."
For those who might not be aware, Sushant Singh Rajput was initially cast in several significant roles, as per reports. He was slated to play the lead character in Abhishek Kapoor's film Fitoor but was later replaced by Aditya Roy Kapur. Similarly, Sushant was also set to star in Half Girlfriend but ended up being replaced by Arjun Kapoor. Additionally, he was initially chosen for the roles that later went to Shahid Kapoor in Kabir Singh and to Ranveer Singh in Befikre.
