Actor and karate coach Shihan Hussaini, who defined Tamil cinema with his acting skills, has passed away after battling blood cancer. He was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai. The shocking news of his demise was shared by his family on Facebook. His body will be kept at the High Command, his residence in Besant Nagar, Chennai, for family and his students to pay their last tribute to the actor. Afterward, to perform the final rites, his body will be taken to the Royapettah Ameerunisa Burial Ground.
Shihan Hussaini's family took to his Facebook account and shared this heartbreaking news. "I'm very sad to inform that HU has left us. HU will be at the High Command, his residence in Besant Nagar, until evening," a Facebook post from his family read.
Initially, the family decided to take his body to Madurai at around 7 pm on March 25. However, as per the doctor's advice, the final rites will take place today at around 4 pm. Informing this, the family wrote, "As per the doctor's advice, HU's mortal body will leave from his house at 2 pm, and his final ritual will be done today at 4 pm in the Royapettah Ameerunisa Burial Ground, Chennai."
They requested Shihan’s archery and karate students to come and inform. Another post read, "Dear archers, parents, and coaches, whoever is coming to HU's house to see his mortal remains, please come in your uniform (any color is fine). If possible, come with your bow and arrow to shoot a few arrows."
Shihan donated his body for medical research
Earlier this month, Shihan, who used to document his cancer journey, revealed in one of his Facebook posts that he had donated his body for medical research. His post read, "Signed it. This will be used for teaching purposes for anatomy to medical students. I was very, very happy to be of teaching even after my death. 'Preparing for death but not giving up.'"
Pawan Kalyan on Shihan Hussaini Demise
Pawan Kalyan, who received karate training from Shihan Hussaini, expressed his grief over his demise. He said in a statement, "I am deeply saddened to learn that Shihan Hussaini has passed away. I had received karate training from him. I learned about the illness of martial arts guru Hussaini four days ago. I also decided to go to Chennai to visit him on the 29th of this month, but I didn’t expect this news. It is very sad to hear such bad news. I pray that Hussaini's soul may rest in peace."
Talking about learning karate with Hussaini, he added, "He taught karate with very strict rules and regulations. I followed what he said exactly. At first, he did not agree to teach me karate. He said, 'I am not training right now, I cannot do it.' After much persuasion, he agreed to teach me. I used to go early in the morning and stay with him till evening. The training was useful for the movie Thammudu."
Pawan also praised the late actor for his multi-faceted talent.

Shihan Hussaini made his entry into acting in 1986 with Punnagai Mannan, which starred Kamal Haasan. He then worked in movies including Badri, Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, Velaikkaran, Moongil Kottai, My India, Unnai Moti Kurumalli, and many more. He was not only known for his acting but also for his karate moves. He worked with Vijay Thalapathy and trained him for the film Badri. He was a karate expert and had been training students in archery.
