Mahira shared the film's poster on her Instagram Story, expressing her enthusiasm with the caption, "Let's go!" Notably, The Legend of Maula Jatt will be the first Pakistani film to release in Indian theaters in over a decade. This remake of the classic Maula Jatt centers on the iconic rivalry between the fierce gang leader Noori Natt, portrayed by Hamza Ali Abbasi, and the local hero Maula Jatt, played by Fawad Khan.
The Indian release of The Legend of Maula Jatt has generated significant excitement among fans, as it marks the first opportunity in years to see a Pakistani film on the big screen. A ban on Pakistani artists working in India was implemented after the Uri terror attack in 2016. However, in November 2023, the Supreme Court rejected a plea to impose a complete ban on Pakistani artists in India. Both Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan have previously worked in Indian cinema, with Fawad appearing in films like Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Khoobsurat, while Mahira made her Bollywood debut alongside Shah Rukh Khan in Raees.
