Undenaama OTT Release Date: After a hiatus from the silver screen, popular Kannada actor Komal Kumar, who was last seen in the 2019 film "Kempegowda," had taken a self-imposed break from the film industry. With a career spanning over 25 years in Kannada cinema, Komal Kumar was not satisfied with the roles being offered to him. He reached a point where he contemplated giving up acting altogether, or perhaps making a comeback with a film that he himself would write. However, fate had a different plan in store for him.

Enter dialogue writer KL Rajashekar, who approached Komal Kumar with a script that instantly captivated the actor's interest. He was enamored by the story and saw it as an opportunity to make a remarkable comeback. Excited and rejuvenated, Komal Kumar enthusiastically took up the project, ready to pour his heart and soul into the film that resonated with him on a deep level.

Renamed from its initial title "2020" to "Undenaama" due to the delay in its release, the film is a comedy that unfolds against the backdrop of the pandemic. Komal Kumar portrays the role of a software engineer and bachelor who is eagerly seeking a life partner. The production of the film faced multiple setbacks, starting with the pandemic-induced delay and later exacerbated by Komal's own battle with a severe and nearly life-threatening case of the virus. It took him a considerable amount of time to recover and regain his health before he could resume his work on the project.

At the trailer launch of the film, director Rajashekar highlighted Komal's unwavering commitment to the project, especially after his recovery from Covid-19. The filmmaker expressed that there were scenes in the film that posed breathing difficulties for the actor, but Komal displayed great resilience and determination to finish the film.

Despite not performing well in theatres, the film, featuring Dhanya Balakrishna and Harish Raj in significant roles, managed to secure a deal for its digital and satellite rights with Sun Network, within 50 days of its release, by Crystal Paark Cinemas. The movie was released on Sun NXT today and is anticipated to have a television premiere soon. Alongside music by Sridhar Sambhram, the film also showcases the talents of Apoova, Vaishnavi, Tanisha Kuppanda, and Bank Janardhan in important roles.
