Agra Traffic Police Issues Advisory Ahead Of Janmashtami Celebrations On Sep 4; Check Key Diversions, Alternate Routes

In view of Shri Krishna Janmashtami celebrations, fairs, and temple tableaux across Agra, the Traffic Police has issued a special diversion plan. The revised traffic arrangements will remain in force from 4:00 PM on September 4 until the conclusion of the festivities.

With a large number of devotees expected to gather in the Namner area and around the Reserve Police Line, vehicular movement will be restricted on several roads. Entry of heavy vehicles into the city will also remain prohibited during the diversion period.

Traffic movement towards Namner Chowraha will be restricted from the following routes:

* Sai Ki Takiya

* Pratappura

* Tank Chowraha

* Kutlupur Idgah Road Tiraha

Alternative routes:

* Vehicles from Idgah heading to Namner should use Kutlupur Tiraha - Mohanpura - MG Road.

* Vehicles coming from Tank Chowraha will be diverted via Club Chowraha - Pratappura - Sai Ki Takiya.

* Traffic moving towards Idgah from Sai Ki Takiya or Pratappura should take Club Chowraha - Tank Chowraha - Sultanpura.

Traffic Restrictions Near Reserve Police Line

The following routes will remain closed for regular traffic:

* Collectorate to Tehsil intersection

* Tehsil to Collectorate intersection

* Hanuman Mandir Tiraha towards Tehsil–Collectorate Road

* Panchkuiyan intersection towards Tehsil intersection

Diversion routes:

* Collectorate to Tehsil: MG Road - Dhakran - Subhash Park - Panchkuiyan

* Tehsil to Collectorate: Panchkuiyan - Subhash Park

Heavy Vehicle Diversion

Heavy vehicles will not be allowed to enter Agra city and will follow these routes:

* From Fatehabad Road: Inner Ring Road

* From Shamsabad: Ekta Police Post - Sau Phuta - Inner Ring Road

* From Fatehpur Sikri: Patholi Canal Chowk - Rohta Chowk

Additionally:

* Heavy vehicles will be completely banned on the Patholi Canal–Vayu Vihar–Agra route.

* Heavy vehicles travelling on NH-19 will not be permitted to enter Agra metropolis.

The city's regular 11 PM no-entry relaxation will not be implemented on September 4. The no-entry restrictions will continue until the Janmashtami events conclude, and all previously issued no-entry passes and permits will remain invalid from 4 PM onwards.

Traffic Police Appeal

Motorists have been advised to use the designated diversion routes, cooperate with traffic personnel, and avoid restricted roads during the celebrations.
