BJP Working President Nitin Nabin is set to become the party’s next national president. Nabin filed his nomination today, and the official announcement is likely to be made on January 20. He is set to become the 12th and the youngest president of the saffron party. Several prominent party members, including Atal Bihari Vajpayee, LK Advani, Rajnath Singh, and Amit Shah, have held the post before. The 45-year-old Nabin will have the responsibility to expand the party's horizon in the southern and eastern states. However, his first year as the president is expected to be full of challenges, as the assembly polls are scheduled to be conducted in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu, two states where the saffron party has not registered victory yet.

List Of BJP Presidents:

- Atal Bihari Vajpayee: The former prime minister of India was the first president of the BJP. The party set its footprint in the Hindi belt under his leadership.

- LK Advani: Known for his famous Rath Yatra, Advani led the strong foundation of the ideology of BJP. The party improved its tally in the Lok Sabha polls.

- Murli Manohar Joshi: He was the party president during the infamous demolition of the Babri mosque in 1992.

- Kushabhau Thakre had previously worked in the RSS and helped the party grow in the rural regions of the country.

- Bangaru Laxman: He was the first Dalit president of BJP; however, Laxman had to resign due to the charges of corruption.

- K Jana Krishnamurthy is known for his role in the BJP's expansion in the southern states. He is considered to have played a major role in establishing and promoting the party in these states.

- Venkaiah Naidu: During Naidu's tenure as national president, the party regained its strong foothold in North India; however, he resigned after the party lost the 2004 Lok Sabha polls.

- Nitin Gadkari is known to provide a boost to the organisation of the party and also coordinated with the RSS office bearers to strengthen the ideology.

- Rajnath Singh: BJP registered its historic victory in the Lok Sabha polls of 2014 under the leadership of Rajnath Singh. He is also known for evolving the new age leaders in several states, including Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan.

- Amit Shah: Known for his organisational skills, Shah led BJP to a huge victory in Uttar Pradesh and also improved the party's tally in states like West Bengal.

- JP Nada: The BJP registered its third consecutive victory in the Lok Sabha polls of 2024 under his leadership.

- Nitin Nabin: The youngest president of the BJP to date, set to lead the young generation of the saffron party.
