Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha:  Ahead of the Pran Pratishtha of the Ayodhya Ram Temple, a silver idol of Ram Lalla toured the temple premises on Wednesday evening as a part of Day 2 rituals. The idol, placed in a flower palanquin was garlanded with roses and marigolds. The temple priests carried the idol around the premises.

Notably, this is not the same idol which will be placed inside the sanctum sacrotum of the temple, but a replica of the same. The replica, weighing about 10 kg, has also been carved by the same sculptor Arun Yogiraj who crafted the main idol. The ritual known as 'Parisar Pravesh' in Hindu scriptures, signifies the symbolic entry of the idol inside the temple.

A temple priest led the 'Palki' by carrying a 'Kalash' (holy pot) on his head, whereas, others chanted revered mantras.

Kalash Pujan was done earlier in the day

As a part of the preparations for the January 22 event, a ceremony known as "Kalash Pujan" took place today. Dr Anil Mishra, the 'Pradhan Yajman' and a member of the Sri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, along with his wife and other participants, conducted the ritual on the banks of the Saryu River.

Yesterday, the 'Panchgavyaprashan' ritual, involving the use of Panchgavya (milk, urine, dung, ghee, and curd), was conducted at the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple after Vishnu worship.

"On 16 January, as part of the Pratishtha Mahotsav of 22 January, in the Shri Ram temple built at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi place in Ayodhya, Shri Anil Mishra atoned all essential belongings and took a bath in the Saryu river. After worshipping Vishnu, he performed Panchgavyaprashan by offering Panchgavya and ghee," the temple trust stated.

"This program concluded with grandeur. Acharya Vedicpravar Shri Laxmikant Dixit ji himself was present at the time of Havan. The recital of Valmiki Ramayana and Bhusundhi Ramayana started in the pavilion," it added.

Teerth Poojan, Jal Yaatra, Jalaadhivaas and Gandhaadhivaas are to be performed on January 18

Whereas, tomorrow's rituals will include the Teerth Poojan, Jal Yaatra, Jalaadhivaas and Gandhaadhivaas, as stated earlier by the Ram Temple trust in the information released on its official X account.
