Earlier on Friday, Gogoi also met the top officials of Uttar Pradesh to discuss law and order arrangements in the state in this regard. The officials briefed Gogoi about their preparedness in handling the law and order situation. They also said that the administration is ready to deal with any kind of situation across the state.
Meanwhile, various politicial leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, have appealed to all parties to maintain peace and harmony and respect the verdict of the court.
In a series of tweets in Hindi, the Prime Minister said that the "Ayodhya verdict will not be anybody's victory or loss", adding that it was the priority of the country's citizens to "maintain harmony".
“Supreme Court verdict on Ayodhya will not be matter of victory or loss for anyone. I appeal to countrymen that it should be our priority to strengthen our tradition of maintaining peace and harmony after Ayodhya verdict,” said PM Modi.
