Bengaluru Crime: A woman’s body, believed to be between 30 and 35 years old, was found stuffed inside a sack and dumped in a garbage truck in Bengaluru early Thursday. The identity of the woman is yet to be confirmed.
Police said the sack was discovered by BBMP sanitation workers who immediately alerted the authorities. The body was found with her hands and neck tied, raising strong suspicion of murder. Officials stated that the body had been placed inside a gunny bag before being thrown into the garbage vehicle.
According to a NDTV report, the incident took place between 1 AM and 3 AM. CCTV footage from the area shows an unidentified person arriving in an auto-rickshaw and dumping the sack into the garbage truck. The Channammanakere Achchukattu Police Station has registered a murder case and begun investigations.
Joint Commissioner of Police, C Vamsi Krishna, confirmed that the body has been sent for post-mortem and efforts are underway to trace the suspect using the available CCTV footage. “We have registered a case under murder sections. The BBMP staff informed us and we are actively investigating,” he said.
In separate news, a 40-year-old sub-inspector from Bengaluru, Mahboob Guddahalli, died on Sunday while undergoing treatment for injuries he sustained in a road accident five days earlier. Guddahalli, posted at Thalaghattapura police station, was escorting two drug case suspects when their vehicle was hit by a truck near Surya City under Hebbagodi police limits. The suspects escaped after the crash.
Guddahalli suffered serious injuries, including a rib fracture and later developed an intestinal infection. Despite undergoing surgery, his condition worsened, leading to his death. The truck and its driver remain unidentified. He is survived by his wife, a son (8), and daughter (6).
